Position Overview
The Concord Scout House, a historic and vibrant community hub in Concord, MA, is seeking a dynamic and community-focused Administrator. This part-time role, requiring a commitment of 20 hours per week with necessary Tuesday evening availability, is pivotal in supporting the Scouting movement, facilitating a range of community activities, and maintaining the Scout House's historic charm and function.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of facility rentals, including inquiries, contracts, scheduling, payments, promotion, and event coordination.
- Maintain positive relationships with diverse groups including local scouting units, Contra Dancing groups, The Barn preschool, and other current stakeholders.
- Build relationships with groups identified by the Board as additional stakeholders or renters.
- Promote the Scout House for unique opportunities such as film location rentals, having previously hosted productions like "Daddy's Home 2" and "Little Women."
- Maintain and coordinate a comprehensive rental calendar for private rentals, scouting events, and other community activities.This includes scheduling and directing other Scout House personnel to be on-site for certain rental events.
- Actively market rental availability through various channels including social media, flyers, and community partnerships.
- Maintain a roster of approved contractors for regular maintenance and cleaning needs, as well as a schedule of inspections and other ongoing facility maintenance work according to the CSH Operations & Maintenance Manual
- Regularly update the website to highlight activities, events, and the facility's unique features.
Operations Management
- Ensure efficient day-to-day management of rentals and events.
- Manage the website, ensuring content is current and engaging.
- Oversee financial aspects including budget tracking, bill payments, and financial reporting.
Outreach and Community Engagement
- Attend community and networking events to promote the Scout House and its mission.
- Develop and nurture partnerships to further the Scout House's goals and community presence.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, with experience in facility management.
- Passionate about supporting scouting, community recreation, historical preservation, and the arts.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, adept at building positive community relationships.
- Detail-oriented with effective multitasking abilities.
- Comfortable with technology, social media, and basic website management.
Reporting Structure
The Administrator will report directly to the President of the Board.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
