Land Surveyors Manager manages and coordinates surveys and investigations of land surfaces. Ensures compliance to all applicable regulations and requirements including boundary calculations and legal issues. Being a Land Surveyors Manager ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Acts as advisor to land surveying team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Additionally, Land Surveyors Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a unit/department head. The Land Surveyors Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Land Surveyors Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required. The individual is subject to working on a variety of project types, including residential complexes, commercial developments, industrial facilities, renewable energy power plants, athletic field design, education improvements, and more.

    Duties

    • Responsible for planning, scheduling, developing, coordinating, directing, and managing a variety of land development projects and portfolios.
    • Preparing various types of related reports and studies and securing local approvals and permits for projects.
    • Contribute to marketing of the firm and development of new business by initiating relationships with new clients, maintaining relationships with current clients, and key individuals of other organizations and companies.
    • Developing and evaluating plans and criteria for land development projects as well as planning and coordinating activities to be carried out by others including in-house engineers, designers, and surveyors and outside specialty consultants.
    • Develop an understanding of local/state jurisdictional requirements for land development and construction permits and applications.
