9-80 Work Schedule (This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off).

Responsibilities to Anticipate for this role-
Operate as the technical lead of 5-15 bargaining unit personnel to complete mechanical component fabrication.

Process and plan incoming mechanical component fabrication Shop Work Orders (SWOs) and material requested from the Material Control team.

Understand Component Fabrication workflow and be able to develop requirements to fabricate mechanical assemblies utilizing waterjet, weld, fabricate/bend and machining.

Monitor shop work order status and initiate corrective actions as needed to stay on target.

Set up work areas for shop work orders (SWOs) to optimize part fabrication and work activities.

Provide leadership, coaching and direction for personnel to ensure customers' needs are met.

Conduct/participate in daily status meetings and cross shift meetings as necessary.

Assist Section Manager with approving daily timecards of Prototype Shop personnel.

Provide labor estimates for new/upcoming work.
-
Ensure personnel are trained/certified to perform operations tasks prior to assignment.

Facilitate involvement and development of a WSBM Team and members as Team Advisor

Follow all EHSI, SP, and corporate policies and directives. Also ensure Prototype Shop personnel and visitors do likewise.

Familiarity with various vehicle platforms is a plus.

Ability to work in a Cross Functional team driven environment – WSBM, System Integration, engineering.
Qualifications Sought
-
3-5 years of related experience with bachelor’s degree in engineering Discipline preferred. Significant additional related experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.

Strong Organizational and Communication Skills both Verbal and Written.

Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, project management skills, lean methodology, and continuous improvement skills.

Working knowledge of Design Tools used in Fabrication areas (i.e. 2D/3D CAD/CAM, Teamcenter, FeatureCAM, Vis-Mockup, Pro-E, Creo).

Working Knowledge of welding, waterjet, and sheet metal fabrication processes.

Working knowledge of Linear dimensioning and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).

Working Knowledge of Preventive Maintenance for various equipment. Maintenance Work Orders, Calibrated Equipment, etc.

Ability to work overtime and 2nd shift as needed.

Ability to obtain ASR card.

Must be a US citizen.

Must have valid driver's license.
