ANNUAL ANTICIPATED HIRING RANGE: $74,000.00 - 84,000.00 (Salaries are paid biweekly)

Job Summary
The Land Surveying Supervisor serves as a project surveyor by providing the coordination and execution of City-wide survey projects under the guidance of the City Surveyor/ Assistant City Surveyor. This position will include research and review of boundaries and easements, field surveying necessary to prepare land survey plats and land descriptions, and a supervisory role in on-site topographic and construction surveying. The position will also provides formal leadership for the technical staff by conducting performance reviews and providing ongoing feedback and development of survey staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all inclusive.

Directs staff engaged in the technical aspects of survey projects for moderate complexity based on the number of stakeholders, budget, and project timeline.

Oversees and coordinates and performs survey work on projects while maintaining close communication on these projects with City personnel and outside contractors including engineers, architects, consultants, and local governmental officials.

Assists in the preparation of Land Survey Plats and minor Subdivision Plats for City projects.

Identifies errors and inconsistencies in design and construction plans and works with consulting engineer and/or engineering/survey project manager and/or construction contractor to resolve.

Resolves project issues and concerns by thinking critically during problem solving and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Create Civil 3D drawings containing topographic, feature and utility data gathered during field surveys for use by Engineers, consultants, and others.

Writes land descriptions and prepares associated exhibits in accordance with Colorado Revised Statutes and local regulations.

Plots field notes, checks general land office records, and draws or traces maps to scale.

Reviews construction plans, conducts calculations and performs construction staking.

Schedules and works with crew members to define survey tasks and set priorities; inspects work for completion and conformance to standards.

Directs technician staff in the operation of a full range of optical, mechanical, and electronic surveying equipment.

Conducts Performance Reviews, provides employee feedback, and addresses employee concerns.

MINIMUM/PREFERRED
EDUCATION LEVEL
Minimum
College degree or equivalent work experience. Some positions may require functionally related certification or advanced degrees.
Experience Requirements

Three years of experience providing technical assistance for survey projects under the charge of a professional Land Surveyor, or combination of education and experience.
