    The Urban Designer/Landscape Architect that joins us will collaborate with a diverse team of professionals located in Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Madison, Miami, and Green Bay, while sharing their skills with other colleagues across our 10 offices in the Midwest, Florida, and Turks and Caicos. GRAEF offers flexible options for in-office, remote, and hybrid work experiences. The direct supervisor for this position is located in our Green Bay, Wisconsin office.

    As an Urban Designer/Landscape Architect, enjoy responsibilities like:

    • Developing urban design concepts related to district planning and placemaking.
    • Designing parks, streetscapes, and public plazas.
    • Designing public spaces and site plans for cultural, government, and commercial building projects.
    • Working and coordinating with multiple disciplines, towards creative solutions.
    • Participating in tasks associated with project management such as project oversight, setting priorities, developing objectives, project financial management.
    • Working directly with clients to turn their concepts into reality.
    • Working on great local and national projects and enjoy seeing them get built!
    • Work will include varying involvement in the entire spectrum of the design process from preliminary design through construction administration. Our team has a range of levels of experience, and we will work with a successful candidate to provide training and mentorship as needed to grow in your professional career with us.
    • Our studio is multi-disciplinary and works across planning, urban design, and building design projects. This position is envisioned to work primarily in site/area master planning, conceptual design, and schematic design; some areas of work will fall into planning (i.e. working with municipalities on creating guiding/regulatory plans such as a downtown district master plan) and construction documents (i.e. doing final design of parks and public places in AutoCAD, selecting materials and furniture, developing specifications, assisting with bidding, and construction administration).

    We are considering Urban Designers/Landscape Architects who possess the following minimum qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in landscape architecture, architecture, or a design-related field.
    • A minimum of 3 years of experience in urban design, landscape architecture, architecture, or park design. Our continued growing national award-winning practice is open to candidates with a range of years of experience, so you are encouraged to apply should you have additional years of experience.
    • Minimum experience with Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Experience with InDesign to create report deliverables (InDesign Book, styles, parent pages, etc.) is considered a plus.
    • Strong graphic design skills.
    • Experience with SketchUp or other modeling program as a design process tool. Experience using such programs to generate final presentation-quality renderings and animations is considered a plus.
    • Experience with programming and conceptual design for parks and public spaces.
    • Knowledge of the construction document process for built projects (design development, construction documents, and construction administration). Extensive construction document experience is not required.
    • Experience with Civil 3D or AutoCAD.
    • Seeking candidates with good graphic, written and verbal communication skills.

    Additional qualifications, considered a plus:

    • Master's degree in landscape architecture, architecture, urban design, or a design-related field.
    • Experience or desire to work on master planning sites or districts.
    • Experience with economic development tools, programs, or grants for downtowns and public places.
    • Experience with managing projects.
    • Registered landscape architect or architect.
