Job Overview:
Tactacam is seeking a Business Unit Project Manager to join their Project Management team. The Business Unit Project Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the development of new lines of Camera and Cellular IoT devices for consumer and private outdoor applications. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing IoT projects through their entire lifecycle, from concept to production. The Business Unit Project Manager plays a crucial role in fostering communication, collaboration, and alignment across teams within their assigned business unit. This role oversees projects, ensuring they are aligned with the unit’s strategic goals, and communicates project timelines and updates to leadership and project teams.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a shared strategic vision across the entire business unit, encompassing Marketing, Product, and Software departments.
Develop comprehensive project timelines and task lists, ensuring alignment with business unit strategic goals as well as the overarching company vision.
Managing external communications and serving as the primary liaison for the business unit.
Collaborate closely with internal design teams and external contract design and manufacturing teams to ensure timely delivery and adherence to specifications.
Serve as the primary point of contact for projects, providing regular updates to senior staff on project status, milestones, and escalations.
Conduct thorough reviews of product specifications to ensure alignment with project goals and customer requirements, maintaining a global strategic vision for the product.
Coordinate cross-functional teams, including IOT and engineering teams, to prioritize tasks and drive projects forward according to company timelines.
Proactively identify risks and issues within projects, developing and implementing solutions to mitigate potential problems.
Facilitate clear communication across the organization regarding product updates, specifications, and strategic direction, fostering collaboration and alignment amongst teams.
Own the development process, ensuring projects meet quality standards and are delivered on time and within budget.
Requirements:
Project Management Certification or Degree preferred.
Exceptional leadership, team management skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing project challenges.
Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
Desired Skills
Start-up experience a plus
Strong influencing and interpersonal skills to drive project outcomes and consensus among stakeholders.
Ability to lead and facilitate productive brainstorming sessions, documenting discussions and providing clear direction.
Familiarity with Gantt charts and project planning tools to ensure project milestones are met efficiently.
