SUMMARY: Design, deliver, and evaluate district professional learning programs for all employees based upon needs assessments and district/school priorities and initiatives. Support enhancing teacher capacity and leadership, facilitate school collaboration within high performing teams, support creating meaningful student experiences, and model best practices in adult learning and facilitation.

Job Tasks Descriptions
- Assess needs and design, deliver, and evaluate professional learning programs that align with LCSD1’s Strategic Plan for all employees. Collaborate and consult with schools and district departments to support all professional learning opportunities that align with district, department, and school goals.
- Increase teacher capacity and leadership in the areas below:

Student engagement – design instruction and meaningful experiences for students that utilize adopted curricular materials and embed relevant and appropriate technology tools.
- Positive environment and culture – fostering relationships and connections for all students.
- Pedagogy and purpose – ensuring teacher clarity within a standards-based approach.
- Formative instruction and assessment processes – ensuring timely adjustments for student ownerships of learning.
- Collaboration within high performing teams - supporting the team infrastructure to ensure teams provide layered support to respond to students’ academic, behavioral, and social/emotional needs.
- Plan, facilitate, and evaluate the district’s orientation and induction programs for educators and administrators.

Oversee the district’s mentor programs and ensure that teachers new to the profession receive professional support during their induction year(s).
- Coordinate and implement a district administrator induction program to ensure that newly hired administrators receive professional support during their first year(s) as an administrator.
- Support schools in the development of professional learning activities and ensure alignment with the District’s Strategic Plan and individual School Improvement Plans.
- Assist with the development of an annual professional learning activities calendar in consultation with the Director of Instruction. Maintain the District’s Professional Learning Calendar and Website.
- Develop and communicate system processes for creating new courses and scheduling district courses.
- Participate in professional development activities to maintain current knowledge of curriculum practices, effective professional development, and adult learning strategies.
- Assist the Director of Instruction with monitoring the district professional learning budget to ensure that programs are cost effective, and funds are managed prudently.
- Develop and monitor a system for registration and tracking of continuing professional education hours for employees.
- Coordinate with the Human Resources Department to approve all salary credit courses offered in the district.

EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s degree in education or administration preferred.
- Demonstrated successful experience instructing students in a classroom setting required.
- Demonstrated successful experience leading adult learning required.
- Experience and formal training in facilitating team collaboration preferred.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS or CERTIFICATIONS:
- Criminal background check required for hire.
- Valid Wyoming educator or administrator license with appropriate endorsement required.
