We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a solid understanding of legal procedures, particularly in Personal Injury Law. This role is essential in supporting attorneys with various tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of our legal practice. We are a local personal injury firm dedicated to advocating for our clients.

Duties

• Assist attorneys in preparing for litigation by organizing case files and conducting legal research.
• Transcribe legal documents, correspondence, and meeting notes accurately and efficiently.
• Manage and maintain document management systems to ensure all files are up-to-date and easily accessible.
• File legal documents with appropriate courts and agencies in compliance with deadlines.
• Support project management efforts by tracking case progress and maintaining schedules for hearings and meetings.
• Collaborate with clients to gather necessary information and documentation for ongoing cases.
• Assist in the preparation of briefs, pleadings, and other legal documents as required.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards within the practice.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or similar role; Paralegal certification is a plus but not required.
• Need to be able to type 60 words per minute.
• Be able to effectively process claims
• Efficiently send settlement demand letters
• Be able to interview clients
• Capable of handling both pre-litigation and litigation cases including discovery
• Capable of handling paperwork and medical records
• Being able to speak Spanish is a plus but not a requirement

SALARY IS BASED ON EXPERIENCE

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
