Legal Services Director oversees the activities of the organization's legal department. Provides legal advice, interpretation, and guidance to senior management and officers regarding contracts, state/federal regulatory requirements, intellectual property or trademark protection, and other business matters. Being a Legal Services Director reviews all information and prepares defense for any legal actions against the organization or advises on prosecuting lawsuits on behalf of the organization. Coordinates and reviews the work of internal or external legal staff. Additionally, Legal Services Director manages staff of attorneys. Requires a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Requires admittance to a state bar. Typically reports to top management. The Legal Services Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Legal Services Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. - Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the HR database
- Help manage shared inbox to ensure prompt responses to employees
- Assist with performance review process by filing all reviews as received and checking them off the list, and following up on those that are missing
- Assist with background check process by filing all background checks as received and checking them off the list, and following up on those that are missing
- Assist in organizing company events and employee engagement activities
- Support the onboarding process for new hires, including the preparation of orientation materials
- Help to coordinate the onboarding of the summer intern class (est 40 interns)
- Provide support to supplying the office, including organizing office supply storeroom, restocking kitchens when they run low on supplies, ensuring proper name plates are on each door and cubicle
- Provide general administrative support to the HR team, including filing, data entry, and managing phone and email inquiries
- Respond to volunteer inquiries
- Assist with HR projects as assigned.
Qualifications- Previous experience in an HR administrative role
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Strong communication skills, work ethic, flexibility, and teamwork.
- Proficient in Microsoft office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Familiar with HR software – knowledge of Paycor is a plus, but not required
- Able to handle confidential information with discretion
- Detail-oriented and proactive attitude
