Lending Officer conducts lending activities for an assigned market or geographic area. Develops a pipeline of customers through referrals, inquiries, and outreach. Being a Lending Officer performs a due diligence review of potential borrowers, including a risk and financial analysis. Structures loan proposals, prepares credit memos, and presents to loan committee for approval. Additionally, Lending Officer may manage a portfolio of existing loans, including reviewing financial reporting, monitoring compliance with loan terms, and handling loan modifications or workouts. Ensures adherence to regulations, bank credit policies, and procedures. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Lending Officer work is closely managed.     Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Overseeing the daily operations of all Lending functions, including Consumer, Real Estate, Participation and Indirect lending and all aspects of collections. 
    • Develop, recommend, implement and administration of credit union wide lending and collection policies, procedures and business goals. 
    • Directs the activities of all Lending and collection personnel and oversees their work responsibilities and ensuring proper training. 
    • Assist with our credit union regulatory agencies and other financial organizations. 
    • Assist in learning Budget and Forecasting Model along with back up to Financial Preparation.
    Qualifications
    • A technical level of knowledge normally through completion of a college level program in business administration, finance or related area, and 5-10 years of increasingly progressive areas of responsible experience in management capacities within a financial institution.
    • A high level of interpersonal skills to communicate policies, procedures, and objectives effectively throughout the credit union and to represent the credit union positively to the public.
    • A high level of analytical skill to assess and evaluate the operation of subordinate areas of responsibility, participate in establishing credit union-wide financial goals, analyze new products, review legal options, and draft reports to the President/CEO.
    • Thorough understanding of credit union management philosophy and guidelines, basic computer knowledge, interested in the welfare of the members as well as the staff, ability to communicate effectively with management and staff, progressive minded and dedicated.
    • Interest in growth opportunities.
    • Required to travel throughout the credit union’s service area in reviewing areas of responsibility within the credit union.
    • Able to handle multiple projects at one time and strives to hit established deadlines and goals.
