  • The Senior Business Development Officer is responsible for developing and executing strategies to drive membership growth while expanding the credit union's community presence.. This critical role focuses on building relationships, developing new business opportunities, and supporting initiatives that promote the financial well-being of members. Additionally, the Senior Business Development Officer coaches and mentors team members, providing guidance and leadership to help team members develop skills and make progress toward their career goals.

    What you will do here:

    Collaborate cross-functionally with the Business Development Leader, Marketing team, and other departments to create and implement business partner and community outreach strategies that boost brand visibility and achieve membership growth goals. Initiatives include developing corporate development and MyMoney@Work programs with the Business Development team. Additionally, work with department leaders and business partners to expand the credit union's product portfolio and establish new marketing promotions, ensuring proper sales approaches for all business products and business development activities.

    Manage and maintain relationships with larger, more complex business accounts, requiring broad knowledge of these accounts. Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to pursue them. Lead outside sales initiatives across the assigned retail branch region to drive business growth. Support branch teams in building awareness of business account sales approaches and understanding member needs to drive growth.

    Develop and execute strategies to grow membership and expand the credit union's footprint.

    Analyze member financial information such as income, assets, investments, and debts to determine suitable products that meet their needs and circumstances. Advise members on the advantages and disadvantages of different financial products.

    Serve as the in-house expert on business services and solutions with extensive product knowledge. Provide procedural support for assigned branches, eBranch, and the Business Development team. Mentor and develop the Business Development team, including training new officers and guiding existing officers, to achieve performance objectives.

    Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

    What you will need:

    Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or related field OR  Equivalent combination of education and experience required.

    5 years Direct sales experience, including cold calling, relationship building, presentation skills, and proven performance in closing deals required.

    3 years of financial services sales and customer service experience required.

    1 years Sales Leadership Experience preferred.

    Strong influencing and negotiation skills required.

    Demonstrated consultative-based approach to establishing needs and prospecting new business required.

    Strong financial acumen and understanding of how financial markets impact the financial services industry required.

    Excellent interpersonal, verbal and communication skills with ability to effectively represent the organization in community, civic and professional organizations required.

    Strong probing, analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills required.

    Advanced planning and execution skills required.

    Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.

    Demonstrated ability to travel and successfully work remotely required.
