Letterpress Setter and Set-Up Operator sets-up and operates a letterpress machine. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Being a Letterpress Setter and Set-Up Operator is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Additionally, Letterpress Setter and Set-Up Operator performs a variety of tasks. The hourly range for this position is is $20.45 - $27.91 . The specific hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
Summary: Sets up and adjusts machine tools for plastic injection molding machines
Specific Responsibilities:
Reads blueprint, bill of materials (BOM) or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions, and materials.
Must have sound knowledge of dryers, blenders and granulators.
Installs and adjusts holding device and fastens specified molding tools in position to enable operator to produce finished work piece to specifications.
Selects and sets speed and feed of machine according to type of operation and specified material and finish.
Starts machine to obtain first run work piece and verifies dimensional tolerances through gauging and First Article Inspection.
Must be able to assist with process problems that may arise which include but are not limited to cycle optimization using scientific molding principles.
Instructs operators or other workers in machine setup and operation.
Sets up machines and equipment other than machine tools.
Competency Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
The employee is frequently required to walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
Candidates would be expected to provide tool box and own basic tools
