Library Services Director - Higher Ed. jobs in the United States

The Glen Ellyn Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic and service-oriented professional to help lead our Library Services team as the Assistant Director & Technology Specialist. Working with the Director of Library Services, this vital role assists in the planning and implementation of services and procedures that meet the goals of the department and satisfies the needs of the community and library members. The Library Services Assistant Director provides technology support for the Library Services department. 

Primary responsibilities:  

• Assists the Library Services Director with managing the department 
• Oversees functions relating to the maintenance of member accounts, including registration, bills and collections, address changes, returned mail and expired accounts 
• Maintains expertise in application and use of Library’s ILS. Mentors staff on best practices and maintains an awareness of current trends  
• Troubleshoots technology related issues and provides training to the Library Services staff on the technology currently in use in the department 
• Participates in relevant professional activities

 Qualifications and Experience  

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university 
• Minimum of 3 years customer service experience, and 1-year supervisory experience with comparable size staff or demonstrated equivalent
