SummaryThis position provides circulation and reference services to Lee Health staff; participates in the daily technical service activities of the libraries, and provides training and leadership to library volunteers at five locations of the Medical Library (Lee Memorial Hospital, Cape Coral Hospital, HealthPark Medical Center, Gulf Coast Medical Center, and Golisano Childrens Hospital Library & Business Center).
The Medical Library Services Associate works in all four branches of the Medical Library and in the Golisano Childrens Hospital Library & Business Center and travels from one library to another at short notice as needed. Responsible for library operations in the absence of the librarian, makes decisions according to appropriate policy, and seeks assistance when necessary. Compiles and maintains library and database statistics, assists with the maintenance of electronic resources and the library catalog, and updates the library website. Provides reference services to Lee Health staff; answers reference questions in person, via telephone, email, and chat; provides instruction to patrons on the use of library resources. Assists in acquisitions, processing, and cataloging of library materials. Places requests for interlibrary loans and fills interlibrary loan requests from other libraries.
