This position is responsible for assisting Keene Public Youth Service Librarians (both children and teens) with the daily operations of the Youth Services Department! Duties include, but are not limited to, providing readers’ advisory and other services to children, young adults, teachers, parents, and adult patrons as well as library staff in person, by phone, through email and uses a broad range of sources including the Internet, the library material collection, and automated library systems to locate requested information or materials.
Minimum requirements include an Associate’s Degree or two-year technical certificate, and at least one year of customer service experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer experience, library experience or public contact experience and experience working with children or completed classes in children’s literature and child development is required. Knowledge and support of intellectual freedom and NH privacy laws and maintaining the confidentiality of customer information is required.
The Library Aide/Youth position offers a pay range of $19.42- $24.20 per hour and 12 hours per week. This position requires working evening and Saturday hours.
