Licensed Practical Nurse - Mental Health administers nursing care to patients with varying levels of mental health disorders and developmental disabilities under the supervision of a registered nurse or other medical supervisor. Monitors treatment and administers medication to patients as needed. Being a Licensed Practical Nurse - Mental Health reports changes in patient's condition to supervisor. Requires graduation from approved LPN educational program. Additionally, Licensed Practical Nurse - Mental Health typically requires a high school diploma. Requires a state license to practice. Typically reports to a registered nurse or supervisor. Licensed Practical Nurse - Mental Health's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Sage Specialty Hospital is seeking compassionate candidates with a strong clinical background and great communication skills.
The Licensed Practical Nurse(LPN) will be responsible for working with physicians, case managers, charge nurses, nursing staff, and patients families to assist in providing the best continuum of care for patients that require care in a Long Term Acute Care Hospital.

Requirements:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Louisiana
- Experience with IVs and PICCs
- Current BLS Certification required
- ACLS Certification preferred but not required.
- Time management skills and great communication is a MUST
- Positive, caring and customer-service-oriented attitude
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care within the scope of practice with collaboration with the charge nurse
- On-going systematic patient assessment
- Timely and accurate documentation
- Ensuring medical orders are transcribed and processed accurately
- Promoting continuous quality improvement
- Timely response to call for assistance
