RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct the nursing assistants to ensure quality care is provided at all times
Meet with nursing staff, as well as support personnel in planning the shifts’ services, programs, and activities
Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician
Complete assessments, care plans, treatments etc.
Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required
Perform routine charting duties as required and in accordance with established charting and documentation policies and procedures
Ensure and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and a positive environment
Positive communication with residents, families, staff and outside providers
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must hold a current nursing license for the state of Massachusetts (or Rhode Island)
Prior long-term care experience preferred, but not required. New graduates welcome to apply
Ability to assess and diagnose health care needs of residents
Ability to communicate interdisciplinary plans to all care providers
Knowledge and ability to assess effects of medications and treatments and monitor these effects to provide appropriate feedback to interdisciplinary team and medical managers
Knowledge of resident rights and ability to apply this knowledge to protect and treat residents, staff and community
