Licensed Practical Nurse - Nursing Home jobs in Iowa
Licensed Practical Nurse - Nursing Home administers nursing care in a nursing home environment under the supervision of a registered nurse or other medical supervisor. Provides basic medical care, including changing bandages, administering prescribed medication, and collecting specimens. Being a Licensed Practical Nurse - Nursing Home ensures the health, comfort and safety of patients by assisting with bathing, feeding, and dressing. Monitors and reports changes in patient's condition to supervisor. Additionally, Licensed Practical Nurse - Nursing Home requires a high school diploma. Requires graduation from approved LPN educational program. Requires a state license to practice. Typically reports to a registered nurse or supervisor. Licensed Practical Nurse - Nursing Home's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. Position Summary: In conjunction with the Unit Director, the Licensed Practical Nurse utilizes a general understanding of the principles of Nursing in the development of and implementation of individualized Nursing Care Plans to ensure that the needs of the customers are met. He/she assists in the orientation of and supervision of nursing personnel, attends to the daily operations of the unit on per shift, unit level, and assumes responsibilities of a leadership role as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. The Licensed Practical Nurse must be a graduate of an approved school for Practical or Vocational Nursing and must be currently licensed by the State Board of Nursing.
2. Experience is preferred in geriatric or rehabilitative Nursing
