We focus on bringing high quality, accessible and effective tech-enabled care to those with Addiction Disorders, especially those in communities for whom traditional care has been found lacking. We provide evidence-based, scalable, holistic healthcare while working alongside community-based organizations to ensure that our care is accessible, non-punitive and responsive to our communities. We build trusted relationships and healing spaces to nourish Belonging, Love, and Purpose.

Our Mental Health team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and to design and implement treatment plans for our members. The majority of members have a dual diagnosis and are receiving dedicated, group-based treatment for substance use disorders in addition to the individual mental health care you would provide. If you thrive in a dynamic environment, have an affinity for working with people with dual diagnosis, and have worked in non-traditional settings such as prisons/jails, shelters or street outreach, this is the role for you!

In this role, you will interact with members and families, referral sources, field staff, and members of the local medical community. You will be a resource for members and community partners, guiding them on the path to recovery. You will work side by side with our licensed counselors, helping our members find their way. Your work is essential to the member and your constant feedback will be expected to help them have the best outcome possible. Your vital work will allow members to receive quality care in their communities and help make a better life within reach. Most of the care will be delivered via telemedicine.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Demonstrating and communicating the core values of Better Life Partners
    • Diagnosing and prescribing psychopharmacotherapy in compliance with Better Life Partners treatment guidelines
    • Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings

    • Collaborating with community partners and Better Life Partners’ counselors on case management and care coordination efforts
    • Adhering to professional and ethical work standards
    • Maintaining compliance with federal, state and local regulations
    • Attending and engaging in regular training and company meetings
    Qualifications:
    • Several years of experience in mental health practice or Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) outpatient program
    • Licensed as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in Vermont; additional state licenses in New Hampshire, Maine and/or Massachusetts is a plus
    • Experience with telemedicine and electronic medical records
    • Experience providing care in non-traditional settings such as prisons/jails, shelters, street outreach
    • Strong harm reduction focus, both as it applies to substance use and to providing mental health services to a vulnerable population
    • Excellent time management and strong attention to detail
    • Exceptionally strong work ethic
    • Team player with an “all hands on deck” attitude, organized/able to multitask
    • Providers who are local to Brattleboro, Bennington, Rutland, or the Northeast Kingdom are strongly preferred.
    • Providers must be willing to travel to a community partner location to perform in person medical evaluations for both OUD/AUD and Responsive Care at least one day a week in addition to virtual clinical care.

This is a full-time, exempt position. The starting salary range for this position is $130 - $170k annually.

This is a hybrid position. Services are provided both in-person and remotely.

    Hybrid position requirements:

    • Must have a valid driver’s license.
    • Must be willing to travel locally within the communities we serve.
    • Must have internet service with minimum upload/download ability.
    • Company will provide equipment (laptop, monitor) plus a remote work stipend for positions greater than 0.5 FTE status.
    • Must have a quiet space to speak to members with minimal background noise.
    • Must understand the importance of protected health information and ensure any data/information is not visible to others.
