Light Assembler assembles fabricated parts of small or light subassemblies and completes units. Fits, tests, and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Being a Light Assembler identifies and sorts units that fail quality standards. May disassemble units to repair or refit parts as necessary. Additionally, Light Assembler operates hand tools, power tools, and other manufacturing assembly line equipment to assemble units. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Light Assembler works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Essential Duties :
Responsible to correct or repair.
Also wire control panels, set diagnostic gauge, and fill sump tanks.
Build position and install subassemblies onto frame. Subassemblies include but are not limited to brakes, drive unit, steering, pump motors, power steering, handles, plates, harnesses, battery cables and receptacle ends.
Requires concentrated effort on small details and the use of hand tools to perform wiring and assembly tasks. Use other equipment to assemble parts including power and air tools, torque wrench, air gun, clamp, hoists etc.
