Commuter Comforts is looking for an experienced Line Cook to be an integral part of our team! We're hiring for our newest location opening inside the Bainbridge Ferry Terminal. If you're looking for a long-term, stable (and fun!) place to work, we're the right fit for you!

Line Cook responsibilities include producing made-to-order menu items during service hours for both in-house guests and to-go orders, completing extensive prep lists including packaging of grab & go deli items for all 3 locations, monitoring inventory, washing dishes & cleaning as you go as well as deep cleaning at closing, receiving & checking in orders, baking pastry items for all 3 locations and assisting front of house team with customer service when necessary. To be successful in this role, you should be organized, focused on quality, calm under pressure, an excellent communicator and a great team player! Note: this position’s compensation includes hourly plus tips. Monthly health insurance offered with 50% employer contribution for over 30 hours averaged per week.

Responsibilities

• Food preparation for made to order items
• Preparation of pre-packaged food items for deli case for all 3 stands
• Receive and process deliveries
• Keep work area clean during service & deep cleaning at end of shift
• Maintain stock & communicate needs to Executive Chef or General Manager
• Check and maintain kitchen equipment
• Comply with health and safety regulations
• Communicate with team

Skills/Qualifications

• Previous work experience as a line cook is a must!
• Must enjoy a fast paced work environment
• Ability to work under pressure and multi-task
• Great customer service experience is a plus
• Ability to work independently and with a team
• Flexibility to work various shifts
• Excellent communication skills
• Toast POS skills a plus
• Ability to be on feet for 8-10 hour shifts
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Must have reliable transportation

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time

Salary: $22 per hour plus tips - DOE

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
