Performs site preparation tasks, including digging holes or trenches, installing anchors, climbing poles, and using equipment like digger derricks, aerial lifts, pulling and tensioning equipment, forklifts, and dump trucks. Being a Lineman installs wire and cable. Follows all safety regulations and procedures. Additionally, Lineman work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires a valid Driver's License. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Lineman works under moderate supervision.     Underground Lineman

    Underground Lineman work with a team to safely install and replace underground . Duties for an Underground Lineman include working in an outdoor construction setting doing physically demanding work. Underground Lineman utilize various construction equipment and assist craft workers in performing their assigned duties.


    What Do You Offer Us?

    • Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance, or repair work of energized and de-energized underground work
    • Setting pad mount transformers
    • Understand basic rigging, hand lines, and lineman knot tying
    • Able to identify primary and secondary voltage on a circuit
    • Must be familiar with induced voltage
    • Capable of assisting with the installation and hook up of a single-phase transformer
    • Capable of performing basic bucket rescue/escape
    • Understands the basic concepts of equipment setup and grounding
    • Capable of working at heights and/or in confined spaces
    • Understands minimum approach distance
    • Capable of checking voltage on transformers
    • Capable of installing and removing a service
    • Works in underground trenches and manholes
    • Understands how and when to use Kellum grips
    • Willingness to glove/work live high voltage distribution lines
    • All other duties as assigned

    What is Required?

    • Must hold a valid Class A CDL
    • DOT Medical Card
    • Pass Pre-Employment drug screen and background check
    • Ability to travel on short notice
    • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods with repeated lifting (Up to 50 lbs.), kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching
    • High school diploma or equivalent
