Litigation Manager provides guidance and advice to a staff of paralegals or legal assistants involved in prosecuting or defending lawsuits. Monitors timelines and work progress to ensure work is completed on time. Being a Litigation Manager conducts new hire and ongoing training sessions. Requires a thorough knowledge of the organization's products/services. Additionally, Litigation Manager requires a bachelor's/master's degree. Typically reports to the top legal executive/general counsel. The Litigation Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. Seeking an experienced Senior Insurance Commercial Litigation Lawyer to join our team. The successful candidate will specialize in handling complex litigation cases related to commercial insurance. - Manage a portfolio of complex insurance litigation cases, including but not limited to, coverage disputes, bad faith claims, policy interpretations, and large-scale liability claims.
- Provide strategic legal advice and solutions to insurance companies and commercial clients regarding potential litigation risks and dispute resolution.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex legal documents and contracts related to insurance and commercial matters.
- Represent clients in trials, hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and regulatory proceedings.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their business needs and offering tailored legal advice.
- Lead and mentor junior lawyers and legal staff within the litigation team.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that legal risks are identified and managed effectively.
- Keep abreast of changes in insurance law and commercial litigation practices to provide proactive advice to clients and the firm.
- Contribute to the firm's knowledge base and thought leadership in insurance commercial litigation through writing articles, conducting seminars, and participating in professional associations.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction(s).
- A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in insurance commercial litigation, with a proven track record of successfully handling complex cases.
- Strong understanding of insurance law, commercial law, and litigation procedures.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership qualities and the ability to mentor junior staff.
