A very busy Virginia Beach law firm is looking for a full-time Legal Assistant to assist the family law and criminal law practice. The Legal Assistant will perform clerical duties, such as answering calls, handling mail, faxing, using a copy machine, and scanning documents. In addition to clerical duties, the Legal Assistant may assist with case management by preparing legal documents that may include letters, motions, petitions, discovery and pleadings. The candidate will have direct contact with clients, witnesses and members of the legal community. The holder of this position will be responsible for following a filing and organization system and perform periodic inspections of materials or files in order to ensure correct placement, legibility, and proper condition.

The candidate must have excellent writing and communication skills, be able to prioritize, work independently, analyze documents for accuracy, and pay close attention to detail.
