Litigation Support Manager jobs in Norman, OK

Litigation Support Manager oversees the team that uses technology to support an organization's litigation efforts. Develops and implements policies and procedures for designing, implementing, and maintaining litigation databases. Being a Litigation Support Manager is responsible for the technical aspects of document organization and control, including electronic discovery (eDiscovery). Provides training to the end users on database use and document management. Additionally, Litigation Support Manager confirms the accuracy of the documents and exhibits for trial. May handle more complex cases. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Litigation Support Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Litigation Support Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Legal Assistants are responsible for maintaining, in tandem with the associate attorney, the teams docket, calendaring, and client/opposing counsel contacts.

    Legal Assistant Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Assist in settlement negotiations
    • Collect all necessary documents for each client
    • Develop and maintain relationships with each client
    • Develop relationships with opposing counsel and support staff
    • Ensure the execution of settlement agreements
    • Draft various types of letters to both clients and opposing counsel
    • Recognize, notate, and prepare for important deadlines
    • Address post settlement issues as they arise
    • Perform other duties as required and assigned

    Legal Assistant Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred but not required
    • Previous experience in a law firm setting is preferred.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Superior analytic skills
    • Ability to change tasks quickly
    • Computer Proficiency
    • Must pass criminal background check

    There is some flexibility when selecting a start time, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of the selected schedule and is expected to work a 40 hour week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
