Loan Collection Clerk jobs in Minneapolis, MN

Primary Responsibility:

The Collection Representative will utilize various collection strategies and methodologies to contact consumers to negotiate payment in full or payment arrangements on debt within federal, state and client collection guidelines and laws.

General Responsibilities:

• Review of accounts in assigned queue to determine next course of action required to resolve the account.
• Utilize various skip tracing techniques and collection strategies (often designed by employee) to locate right parties in order to negotiate payment arrangements on high collectibility or value accounts.
• Negotiate payment terms and methods when right party is reached. The process often requires reviewing the account information in database, and/or asking probing questions of the consumer in order to better understand potential objections to payment.
• Overcome stalls and objections & suggest money sources for debt payment
• Utilize payment options (credit cards, direct checks) and secure this information so that administrative services can process payments
• Dorm, close, and make recommendations on accounts in accordance with our established guidelines.
• Make second voice calls as necessary to assist other collectors.

Required skills and abilities:

• Collection experience preferred, but not required;
• Strong verbal communication skills;
• Ability to grasp training and instruction and translate that into action;
• Excellent Judgment and the ability to recognize and solve problems; and,
• Ability to plan, organize, prioritize tasks, and work independently.

Compensation: Salary based upon experience plus commission. Additional Compensation:
