    The Job:

The Mortgage Loan Processor (MLP) position is a great doorway into a career in the Mortgage field. This is the perfect position for someone who is interested in mortgage lending and may not have previous experience. In this position you will assist the Loan Officer with requests and tasks needed to complete and process applications. The MLP acts as a liaison between Loan Officer and Underwriter, double-checking lending guidelines and all essential prior-to-document conditions before and after approval. Their role is to make sure the loan application is free of mistakes and includes all essential information the Underwriters need to perform a risk assessment.

As a MLP, your day-to-day goal will be to move loan files through the loan process as timely and as precisely as possible. You will review the loan application, verify its accuracy, compare it to the information in the system and if there are any missing documents you will reach out and get them signed by the customer. The MLP also orders the appraisal, title/escrow, the flood determination and gathers any additional documentation to ensure the application is complete.

You will thrive in this position if you have strong attention to detail, are very organized, computer proficient and have strong communication skills. Good MLPs are able to spot mistakes and missing information. They notice when information looks out of place or certain documents are missing from the clients file. The MLP will be the liaison between the Loan Officers, Underwriters, and customers, so having clear and respectful communication will be vital. This is a perfect position for someone who takes ownership in their work and understands how their actions affect the team and overall process. We are looking for someone who holds themselves accountable and who is willing to learn and grow.
