SVP Process Review Manager

  • The Process Review Manager will report into the Business Control Head team for Branded Cards. The role will lead efforts to create standard methodology and processes for control execution across Branded Cards. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Responsible for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project.

    Responsibilities:

    • Build and lead process inventory, processing mapping and evaluation of processes with broad implications for Branded Cards
    • Maintain book of work, provide summary view to management
    • In partnership with Sr. Leadership and Issues Management evaluate and recommends processes to deep dive
    • Perform cross process review to identify related and interdependent elements and provide recommendations for combining or connecting efforts to achieve greater effectiveness and efficiency
    • Defines scope, target state and success criteria based on comprehensive analyses
    • Recommend controls and automation opportunities
      - Defines requirements for WFM and oversees the development to support new cross Brands processes
    • Brings in MCA, Legal and ICRM team as appropriate
    • Creates the infrastructure to support the process (typically leveraging WFM), creates and maintains procedures for the owned processes, and executes the controls to ensure the Cards/Lending teams are following the processes
    • Collaborate & socialize with key stakeholders any proposed process changes/enhancements to ensure awareness and that solutions are practicable and sustainable
    • Support Product Management teams by completing Internal Audit or Compliance requests accurately and timely or performing a Pre-Audit & process assessment

    • Understand how your work contributes to other work across Citi / understand downstream impacts of decisions made
    • Partner across all stakeholders—control functions, the business in a way that demonstrates collective obligation on managing risk through appropriate controls
    • Strong regulatory and senior management interaction/communication skills
    • Support all governance routines, including planning and preparation sessions with business, consulting on Control guidelines and presentation documentation, and remediation on plan design.

    Qualifications:

    • 10 years’ experience in risk, control and governance functions
    • Ability to create, manage and communicate strategic concepts and project statuses
    • Ability to establish and maintain a high level of trust and confidence
    • High energy, confident individual that communicates with passion and authority
    • Excellent communication skills; must be able to effectively communicate with management and employees across business functions
    • Significant interpersonal skills at all levels of management and ability to motivate teams to solve dynamic problems
    • Able to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines and lead and influence in a highly matrixed and rapidly changing environment
    • Ability to create, manage and communicate strategic concepts and project statuses
    • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint knowledge
    • Process mapping experience
       

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree
    • Six Sigma, PMP and process improvement experience is preferred
