Localization Engineer develops and produces localized versions of the company's products and services. Supports the creation and maintenance of localization test specifications and scripts for automating localization testing. Being a Localization Engineer tests localized products according to test specifications. Identifies, prioritizes and fixes localization bugs according to established procedures. Additionally, Localization Engineer applies working knowledge of networks, operating systems, hardware, software, and testing/production environments in performing work assignments. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Localization Engineer occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.   • Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opportunity for an Engineer Technician at our Indiana Harbor operation in East Chicago, Indiana. Engineer Technicians have broad technical responsibilities working on computers, networks, control systems, and a host of specialty field devices. The ideal candidate will have prior steel industry experience, be self-motivated and thrive in a fast-paced work environment with complex operations.  

    The role will be part of our United Steelworkers (USW) union compensation, benefits, and pension agreement.

    Pay: $44.00 per hour

    Summary of Responsibilities: 

    • Work on computers, networks, controls systems including PLC and loop controllers, instrumentation and a host of specialty field devices.
    • Work activities include installation, troubleshooting and repair, process troubleshooting using automation, participating in projects for improvements and upgrades.
    • Perform software back-ups, preventative maintenance, and spares management.
    • Conduct training for craft employees and operations employees.
    • Write reports.  

    Minimum Qualifications: 

    • Associate degree in EET or equivalent
    • 5 - 7 years’ experience working as an engineer technician
    • ISA CCST Level 2 certification (Instrumentation, Systems and Automation Society - Certified Control Systems Technician)
    • Must pass all required testing.
