Localization Engineer develops and produces localized versions of the company's products and services. Supports the creation and maintenance of localization test specifications and scripts for automating localization testing. Being a Localization Engineer tests localized products according to test specifications. Identifies, prioritizes and fixes localization bugs according to established procedures. Additionally, Localization Engineer applies working knowledge of networks, operating systems, hardware, software, and testing/production environments in performing work assignments. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Localization Engineer occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. We are building our Global Marketing Localization group and are seeking Localization Asset Specialists who are eager to contribute to this exciting endeavor which allows us to speak to customers around the globe!
Our Localization Asset Specialist will report to a Localization Program lead and closely collaborate with cross functional peers across International Marketing, Global Marketing and Amazon Studios Production and Mastering. They will track assigned series/movies marketing campaign delivery progress while overseeing the processing of required assets from third-party production facilities through Amazon’s contracted vendors for localization, mastering, and delivery — ensuring aggressive global release timetables are met. They will be responsible for: updating and maintaining various schedules, keeping vendors and regional POCs up-to-date as creative materials are finalized, tracking localization progress and pursuing outstanding materials.
Localization Asset Specialists will partner with multiple Localization Producers to support the creation of localized subtitles, dubs, and metadata for series and movies. The Localization Asset Specialist will update and maintain various tracking grids and status reports to keep, Localization Producers and Executives up-to-date as content is finalized, track overall localization progress, flag outstanding materials or potential delays, aggregate data for a subset of assigned tasks such as avails/metadata, and help amass assets for final delivery to Amazon Prime Video (PV).
They will work closely with the Localization Managers in conjunction with the Localization Billing Coordinator to keep billing in sync with the production and localization timelines across assigned series. They may also be called onto issue and revise purchase orders, ensure all invoices are tracked, processed, and approved, and update corresponding logs in a timely manner.
The ideal candidate should be willing and able to handle a heavily administrative day-to-day, but with a willing focus and bias to expand their localization management skills.
- Familiarity with a variety of digital media workflows and styles of content localization
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Detail oriented with excellent and proactive organizational skills
- Experience with proprietary systems and technologies
- Working knowledge with spreadsheet software, such as Microsoft Excel
- Experience with purchase orders, invoicing, and tracking of spends
- Familiarity with foreign languages (Spanish, German, Japanese, etc.) is a plus, but not essential to succeed in this role
- Familiarity with metadata organization and submission
- Familiarity with component-based localization and mastering workflows such as IMF or MMC
