Localization Engineer, Sr jobs in New Britain, CT
Localization Engineer, Sr develops and produces localized versions of the company's products and services. Supports the creation and maintenance of localization test specifications and scripts for automating localization testing. Being a Localization Engineer, Sr tests localized products according to test specifications. Identifies, prioritizes and fixes localization bugs according to established procedures. Additionally, Localization Engineer, Sr applies working knowledge of networks, operating systems, hardware, software, and testing/production environments in performing work assignments. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Localization Engineer, Sr work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Minimum requirements (but not limited to) are listed below.- Must be a licensed professional engineer in Connecticut
- Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience as project manager for design projects
- Must have extensive experience with design of bridges, both rehabilitation and replacement
- Experience with CTDOT local bridge program experience. State and Federal Local Bridge Program projects.
- Experience with County projects in CT are highly desirable
- Experience with railroad bridges is highly desirable
- Experience with design of building renovation is highly desirable
- Experience with design-build projects is highly desirable
- Demonstrated experience in writing technical proposals with photos and graphic illustrations and innovative technical approach
- Effective oral and written communication and superb presentation skills
- Demonstrated skills in independent thinking, innovative ideas, and problem solving
- Proven track record of decision making, customer service, and negotiation and conflict resolution
- Demonstrated experience in leading structural design projects in various sizes and complexity
- Demonstrated experience with staging of complex projects at active transportation facilities
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects
- Proficiency in the use of structural analysis programs and standard Microsoft Office software
- Ability to manage inter-departmental projects with various disciplines
- Must have motivational and people skills for supervision of engineers and CAD personnel
- Demonstrated experience with cost-benefit analysis, life-cycle-cost-analysis and risk assessment
- Demonstrated ability and experience of managing and tracking budget for both cost-plus and lump-sum projects
- Clear understanding of invoicing requirements for various types of public sector projects
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering is required.
- Masters of Science Civil Engineering or Masters of Structural Engineering preferred. A structural emphasis is preferred with coursework to include structural analysis, foundations, and design with structural steel, reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete materials.
- Minimum 8 years of demonstrated experience on various types of bridges, to include analysis, design and plan development of new and rehabilitation projects is required
- Previously demonstrated project experience with ConnDOT and MassDOT
- Professional Engineer (PE) required and SE is preferred
- Demonstrated proficient knowledge of SAP2000, CSiBridge, Larsa, Midas, Lusas or other structural design/analyses programs desirable.
- Must have a solid understanding of and practical experience applying the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications to transportation structures.
