Overview

Position Summary:

This internship is within our NYK Group Americas (NGA) Inc. company.

The position could develop into a full-time opportunity upon graduation.

Seeking candidates with a graduation date by May 2025.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work in NGA Roll On Roll Off (RORO) division in the Business Process Management (BPM) department to learn business functions and contribute to the success of the department and company.  NGA RORO is a deep-sea ocean carrier whose vessels transport cars, trucks, and machinery across the globe.  Below is a description of the department role.

Business Process Management (BPM)

• Support NGA RORO business operations to resolve business process and IT issues.
• Review various NGA RORO business processes to identify improvements that can be implemented by business process changes or IT solutions.

• Business Knowledge - understanding of RoRo shipping business, ocean carrier business, or logistics business is helpful, but not required.
• Proficient with (or able to quickly learn) Microsoft Office suite of modules including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Education:

-  Currently enrolled in and attending a university in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree, with a graduation date by May 2025

Schedule and Logistics:

• Duration of employment from May through August (flexible with start date and end date based on student’s college schedule); expectation is at least 10 weeks of employment.
• Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for 35 hours per week (does not include lunch break).
• Work style is a combination of in-office work and remote work from home office.
• Laptop and any required work materials to be provided for duration of employment.
• Office location is 300 Lighting Way, Secaucus, NJ 07094.

The employee is primarily seated while performing the duties of the position.  Occasional walking, stooping, filing, lifting or standing is required.  The hands are regularly used to write, type, file, key and handle or feel small controls and objects.

The employee must frequently talk and be able to hear.
