Prairie Harvest does not do any processing of live animals. The harvest of the live animals is completed in top humanely designed facilities in the world. Our producers also have the same pride in their products, and enjoy the knowledge that their products will be featured on the plates of the finest restaurants in North America.
Prairie Harvest is highly regarded by hundreds of professional chefs for our customized meat cutting facility. Through our USDA and State certificates, we are able to produce any cut that a creative chef can request. We have our own dry aging program which allows us the ability to dry age up to 700 loins at a time. We dry age products such as Angus beef, Buffalo, Wagyu beef and Long Island duck. We offer sustainably raised prairie buffalo, grass-fed local lamb, organic air-chilled chicken and a wide variety of wild game, such as wild boar, pheasant, and North American elk.
Purchasing/Logistics position: Purchasing will be expected to be accurate and timely, along with the scheduling for delivery of the products to the warehouse. Responsible for weekly monitoring of entire inventory for about 100 items and will monitor trending and slow moving products. This applicant will be joining a thriving company with a team atmosphere focused on being dedicated to the companies high standard of customer service and quality products. This position is key to the overall company's day to day functions and processes.
Daily Job Tasks: Input & Submit Purchase Orders While Maintaining Accuracy in Ordered Products & Logistics Methods
Communicate with Sales Staff, Receiving Manager, Accounting Team, Vendors, Trucking / Cross Dock Companies
Follow-Up on all Open Purchase Orders Noting Any Changes on prices and quantities and Tracking all Deliveries
Monitor & Maintain Proper Stock Levels
Wage depends on experience and qualifications
Our twenty employees work a 35-40 hour week, Monday through Friday. Many of our employees have enjoyed working at Prairie Harvest for 10 plus years.
