OBJECTIVE

The incumbent plans, coordinates freight, warehousing, and distribution.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists with inbound and outbound freight and shipping based on customer requirements
• Assists with accuracy of shipping freight efficiency
• Knowledge of Ocean Freight
• Negotiates with suppliers to improve supply chain efficiency of rates or services
• Recommends optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequency
• Assists in product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements
• Participates in carrier management processes, such as selection, qualification, or performance evaluation
• Plans and implements improvements to internal or external logistics systems or processes
• Maintains a clean, safe work area
• Participates in training and cross-training efforts as needed
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Preferred 2 years of experience in logistics freight preferably including import/export knowledge

• Understanding of costs associated with shipping including operating budget, freight cost and cost negotiations, and supplier management
• Ability to analyze and interpret data
• Ability to demonstrate professionalism, time management and confidentiality
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
• Maintains positive working relationships with all internal and external customers
• Excellent PC and computer skills with the ability to create reports when needed
• Experience in communication, relationship management, ethical work practices, and business acumen
• Experience managing confidential or proprietary information required
