Logistics Director manages all aspects of an organization's logistics management function to control, deliver, and distribute products and materials to the destination. Implements an overall strategy, metrics, and processes to deploy an optimized logistic network and operations. Being a Logistics Director oversees critical and related inventory, distribution, and transportation operations that support the achievement of organizational goals and KPI's for product delivery and customer satisfaction. Selects vendors and negotiates rates and service levels and monitors performance. Additionally, Logistics Director ensures compliance with all regulations governing transportation of goods. Utilizes analytics to monitor and measure performance, identify problems in operations, and achieve high performance at optimal cost. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Logistics Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Logistics Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Full-time Logistics Assistant

    Paradise Valley Estates

    Paradise Valley Estates (PVE) is a 76 acre, premier life plan community located in the foothills of Napa Valley in Fairfield, California. Founded originally as a military community, PVE has evolved to include all members of the community but the military heritage and values of Honor, Authenticity, Collaboration and Service still exist.

    Working under the supervision of the Logistics Manager, the Logistics Assistant will assist with the administrative responsibilities of the Logistics departments. This will include but will not be limited to maintaining records for and processing transportation slips, filing, copying and other office duties as assigned. As a member of the Logistics Team, the Logistics Assistant will contribute to a positive, uplifting atmosphere with fellow employees and on the PVE campus.

    Job Responsibilities and Competencies:

    • Respectfully cooperates with various supervisors by asking questions in order to understand assignments, reports problems or issues at an early stage, meets assigned deadlines.
    • Processes and coordinates resident transportation requests.
    • Is available to produce the independent living activity calendar as needed for distribution to the people served.
    • Assumes the responsibilities of the Logistics Manager during scheduled and unexpected absences, including but not limited to daily transportation dispatching, printing driver schedules and entering Worxhub requests, with the direction and support of the Logistics Manager.
    • Performs other duties as may be assigned by management.

    Job Qualifications:

    • Self-motivated individual with an ability to work independently or as part of a team.
    • Strong time management and problem solving skills.
    • Ability to maintain poise and professional appearance
    • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and deal with frequent interruptions.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
    • Prior experience preferred but not required.
