Logistics Manager manages all aspects of an organization's logistics management function to control, deliver, and distribute products and materials to the destination. Implements an overall strategy, metrics, and processes to deploy an optimized logistic network and operations. Being a Logistics Manager oversees critical and related inventory, distribution, and transportation operations that support the achievement of organizational goals and KPI's for product delivery and customer satisfaction. Selects vendors and negotiates rates and service levels and monitors performance. Additionally, Logistics Manager ensures compliance with all regulations governing transportation of goods. Position Summary
The Location Manager manages and coordinates the operational efforts of an individual client location under limited supervision. They participate in the development and implementation of location policies and procedures. This position partners with the current motor carriers and a pipeline of potential motor carriers. This position conducts operational analyses and audits current procedures to monitor and improve the efficiency of operations and client satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Oversight for the daily operations of a location and its various components, ensuring compliance with company, client, local, state, and Federal policies, and regulations
Developing or assisting with the development and implementation of policies and procedures consistent with those of the organization to ensure efficient and safe operation of the location
Oversight and supervision of personnel including work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluating performance and making recommendations for personnel actions; motivating employees to achieve peak productivity and performance
Hold daily stand-up meetings with key stakeholders
Interpret and share location statistics with key stakeholders
Partner with the current motor carriers and a pipeline of potential motor carriers
Oversight and collaboration of financials including budgeting and P&L management
Reviewing and interpreting of operating information as appropriate; coordinating and developing periodic operating analyses
Providing advice and assistance to top management in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of modifications to existing operations, systems, and procedures
Representing the organization at various community and/or business meetings; promoting existing and new programs and/or policies
Manage logistics services
Performing other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Associate or Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, business management or related field preferred
Two (2) years or more of work-related experience in logistics, warehouse, or industry-related field preferred Systems
Directly related management expertise in fiscal services, administration, and human resources gained through either 2-years of equivalent-level work experience or completion of bachelor's degree in business management or related discipline
Knowledge of warehouse management principles, practices, and procedures
Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures
Knowledge of budgeting cost estimating, and fiscal management principles and procedures
Knowledge of applicable legislation, standards, policies, and procedures within specialty area
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
Strong presentation skills to engage with motor carriers, clients, and other stakeholders
Skill in examining operational procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
Employee development skills
Motor Carrier development skills
Ability to supervise and train employees including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
