Your Impact Perform professional structural engineering work and Bridge Design tasks as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Assist in the preparation of contract drawings and specifications.Preparation of design calculations for medium and long span bridge replacement projects.
Strong knowledge with structural analysis software and CADD (AutoCAD and / or Microstation).Perform load rating analysis and evaluation of existing structures for repairs / retrofits.
Work as an individual or as part of a cross-functional team of engineers, architects, planners, and scientific professionals to execute project work, assist with laying out installations, establishing reference points / elevations / grades to guide construction, selecting appropriate materials to ensure durability, calculating costs and quantities of material / equipment / labor, and ensuring project work conforms with specifications, permit applications, compliance documentation, and regulatory and technical analysis memos.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.Who You AreRequired Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline.
3 to 5 years of relevant post education experience in engineering discipline and prior structural or bridge transportation projects.
EIT / FE Certification.Proficiency in applicable national standards such as AASHTO.Proficiency with RIDOT, MassDOT, MBTA, and / or ConnDOT standards, specifications and procedures.
Hands on experience with structural analysis software and CADD (AutoCAD and / or MicroStation).Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills.Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products.Valid driver's license.
Must successfully complete and pass WSP's Motor Vehicle screening.Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug / alcohol and harassment policies.
Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.Preferred Qualifications : Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
