Our company is seeking an experienced and dedicated Machinist/Toolmaker to join our dynamic team. This exciting role is situated within our high-tech manufacturing floor, where you will have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment, including CNC machines, grinders, CNC lathes, mills, and toolmaking equipment. This role is ideal for a skilled machinist who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment and is passionate about working with precision tools and machines to create high-quality products. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role and a strong knowledge of CNC operation and programming.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate a variety of machine tools including CNC machines, grinders, CNC lathes, mills, and other precision tools.
- Create, modify, and repair machine parts and tools using precision measuring instruments and equipment.
- Review electronic or written blueprints or specifications for a job.
- Calculate dimensions or tolerances using instruments such as micrometers or vernier calipers.
- Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace, and adhere to job-specific safety protocols.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to determine effective manufacturing processes.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery.
- Assist in the training of new employees in machine operation and safety procedures.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience as a Machinist/Toolmaker in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in the use of CNC machines, grinders, CNC lathes, mills, and other precision tools.
- Strong knowledge of the operating principles of the related machinery and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of quality control principles and procedures.
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to use protective gear.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship will be an asset.
