Machinist assembles, repairs, and fabricates parts or components for tools or machines by operating mechanical equipment. Reads and interprets blueprints and design sketches to determine the precise specifications, dimensions, and tolerance levels of the finished product. Being a Machinist selects and operates the appropriate tools to cut, shape, or finish metal, plastic, or composite material. Sets up, services, and maintains equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation. Additionally, Machinist utilizes precision measuring instruments to check the accuracy and quality of machined parts. Assembles parts into sub-units or complete units as necessary. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Machinist works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. • Quoting and setting up new jobs and products as we grow.
• Program and operate CNC mills and lathes, turning raw materials into works of precision.
• Offer wisdom to enhance efficiency, workflow, and the quality of end products.
• Inspect your own work before it reaches the Quality department—because your name is your brand.
Your Skills:
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in CNC programming; milling, turning, and ideally grinding experience.
• Mastery over standard measuring equipment and techniques.
• Excellent math skills.
• Your work speaks for itself, but you also possess good written and verbal communication skills.
