Responsibilities

Associates to perform all safety checks at the start of their shift.  This includes, but not limited to, all cranes and tools.  Associates are to complete the necessary documentation and continue to perform safety checks throughout the shift. 

• Be able to read, understand and interpret blueprints and job routings.
• Record required information on proper forms relating to machining practices where required. 
• Properly operate and interpret various measuring devices (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.)
• Correctly monitor and identify when equipment needs to be sent out for calibration.
• Be able to sharpen drills, taps, and maintain tooling relating to various machining practices.
• Be able to inspect machined surfaces for discontinuities and effects by Mag Particle inspection.      Successfully complete mag particle certification. 
• Preforms housekeeping and other related duties.
• Material handling – operation of cranes, and hoist when necessary.  Also successfully complete any training/safety program relating to the operation of the equipment.
• As a Samuel employee, you are required to understand the ISO system and the elements that affect your job.

Education and Certifications 

• Trade education in CNC preferred or High School diploma / GED and 1-3 years’ experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment to meet team expectations.
• Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures.  
• Ability to understand and abide by all safety rules and regulations to perform the job.
• Must have a basic understanding of computers.
• Must have reading, writing and simple math skills.
• Must be able to read blueprints.
• Operate hoists and cranes in a safe manner.
• Knows how to operate general hand tools.
• Must know micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, and other measuring and gauging devices.
• CNC Machine Shop Equipment.

Work experience in related industry is an asset but even if you do not have this, we still want you to apply. On the job training will be provided.
