Sets up, services, and maintains equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation. Additionally, Machinist utilizes precision measuring instruments to check the accuracy and quality of machined parts. Assembles parts into sub-units or complete units as necessary. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Machinist works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. ABOUT THE WALLA WALLA FOUNDRY
Walla Walla Foundry is one of the largest fine art fabricators in the world. Originally founded in 1981 as a bronze casting foundry, it now employs over 100 people and produces work in a range of materials and through multiple processes. The foundry casts in various alloys, including bronze, copper, brass, stainless steel and silver. It also produces work in wood, resin, glass and wax. It houses an advanced technological infrastructure encompassing a digital design and modeling department, three high resolution five axis CNC machines, 3D Printing, 3D scanning, and high precision water jet cutting services.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and pieces used in the creation of unique contemporary sculpture. Equipment and machines operated include CNC Waterjet, horizontal bandsaw, milling and lathe machine. This position will also back-up other production work which could include welding and sanding. Position is onsite, at Walla Walla Foundry. This is a full-time hourly position; regular work hours are 7am-3:30 pm Monday through Friday. Overtime work (5 am start and Saturday shift) required, per project deadlines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENT
This is an active role—frequent standing, walking, twisting, lifting and/or moving up to 25 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. occasionally, drives a fork truck. Environment is industrial and can be dirty, dusty, and noisy. PPE required and worn frequently include safety glasses, ear protection, face shields, respirators, and sturdy work boots.
WAGE AND BENEFITS
Wage range is: $22.00 to $29.96/hour, depending on experience. New hires generally start at or below midpoint. Walla Walla Foundry offers a comprehensive benefits package, including 100% paid employee health/vision and $10/month towards dental insurance; paid time off includes Vacation, Sick Leave, and 6 holidays. Other benefits include Long Term Disability, Life Insurance and FSA. After 1 year, 401k with employer match.
