Mail Clerk receives, sorts and distributes incoming mail. Collects and processes outgoing mail. Being a Mail Clerk operates postage machine and other mailroom equipment as needed. Typically requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Mail Clerk typically reports to a Mailroom Supervisor. The Mail Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. General Statement of Duties/Responsibilities:Mail Center clerks perform general clerical work in support of the USPS and WSU's Mail Center. This position is responsible for duties such as metering packages, sorting and processing of student packages; completion of various mail projects for a department, University, or Center; making photocopies; and/or running various errands.
