Mail Clerk receives, sorts and distributes incoming mail. Collects and processes outgoing mail. Being a Mail Clerk operates postage machine and other mailroom equipment as needed. Typically requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Mail Clerk typically reports to a Mailroom Supervisor. The Mail Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. The mail clerk is responsible for sorting daily mail and distributing to the correct office staff, folding letters to go out in the mail, processing mail through the postage machine, walking to the post office to send out large volumes of mail. You will also be using the copy machine to scan in documents and may need to rename files on the computer. This is a very fast paced job that will require excellent time managements skills to ensure you are staying on task and all tasks are complete before the end of your shift.
