Mail Clerk, Sr. jobs in Lafayette, LA

Materials Management has an immediate full-time opening for a Mail Distribution Clerk. The position will be responsible for processing incoming and outgoing mail for internal and external recipients. This position follows a Monday to Friday schedule, from 7 am to 4 pm, with a total of 40 hours of work per week.

• Pick up and deliver mail to post office
• Unload mail and bring to: Secretary/Receptionist – Administration, Deposit Clerks, Acadian on Call
• Deliver routed tickets to Accounting Clerk (second floor)
• Unpack mailbags - 300 building
• Retag mailbag for shipment (Courier)
• Distribute mail to third floor, second floor, 300 building, 298 building
• Check front desk for mail
• Meter mail for DMS
• Call for service for equipment repair
• Pack mailbags for courier truck (Daily)
• Meter certified mail
• Clean office
• Place mailbags in purchasing for courier pickup
• Route packages to receiving
• Post mileage and record trips
• Drive from/to support services complex to corporate office and other area offices; corporate office back to support services; support service back to corporate office; corporate office to post office and deliver outgoing mail
• Drive to support services complex to deliver next day mail for office personnel

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid state issued driver's license and acceptable driving record in accordance with Acadian’s driving program and insurance policies
• Ability to read and write; ability to memorize departments, names and company personnel; ability to organize paperwork and mail.
