    • Responsible for screening, sorting, processing and the delivery of all incoming mail and packages into the installation.
    • Ensures that accountable mail is received, stored, mailed, and delivered in accordance with all appropriate mail and security regulations.
    • Prepares and maintains all appropriate mail records, such as daily logs, accountable registers, and postage use form.
    • Assures that mailroom is maintained in a neat and orderly fashion, and wears all protective clothing required.

    • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
    • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
    • This position has a requirement to be able to lift over 40lbs.
    • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
    • This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) and is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. IAW AR 600-85, a DA 5019R Condition of Employment must be signed for mandatory drug testing.

    In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.     Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) processing and delivering incoming and outgoing mail; AND operating office equipment to process mail. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

    Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.

    OR

    Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
