You will be working with CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL AKRON, we need basic mail, Mail Carrier Mailroom, and administration experience.
The work schedule generally consists of 40 hours per week, which may include on-call status, evenings, and/or weekends.
Job Summary: Standing for long periods to process outgoing mail and sorting incoming mail. Delivering mail throughout the organization to various departments once of day. Able to drive a Van within one mile around the hospital to deliver/pickup mail. Meter and sort mail to department and floor. Stack mail and packages safely for transport. Maintain good rapport with client and coworkers. Adhere to conduct, attendance, punctuality and appearance standards and safety protocals.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Receives, sorts, delivers, picks up, and process courier items, interoffice mail, magazines, and all classes of United States Postal Services (USPS) mail.
Tracks courier and accountable items (FedEx, UPS, Certified Mail, etc.).
Researches and routes unidentified and generic mail.
Coordinates, stages, and transports bulk mail items.
Receives, logs, delivers and tracks messenger items.
Coordinates and processes customized packaging and other customer special requests.
Follows all processes established in the client standard operating procedures (SOPÂs).
Monitors packages for hazardous and suspicious materials.
Follows established customer inquiry processes and responds to customer needs and requests.
Promptly informs supervisor of potential problems or customer concerns.
Maintains accurate records of customer inquiries and fulfillment of requests.
Maintains delivery lists and mail cart folders with updated names and locations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Key Skills:
Responsible for preparing and scanning a variety of customer documents. This includes the tasks of arranging documents in prescribed order and format, inserting targets at customer request, and repairing documents as needed.
Scans documents on a variety of scanning equipment including microfilming cameras.
Verifies input data to ensure accuracy of completed work, scans and edits work for errors during processing.
Minimum Qualifications:
21 Years of Age or Older
High School Diploma or GED
Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Ability to use a personal computer.
1-3 years of experience in Mail Carrier/ Shipping & Receiving
Physical Requirements:
The work schedule generally consists of 40 hours per week, which may include on-call status, evenings, and/or weekends.
Ability to lift 20 to 50-pound containers.
Prior Helpful Experience May Include:
Mail Clerk, Mail Room, Mail Carrier, Shipping & Receiving, Production worker, Mail Handler, Document Sorter, etc.
