The Evergreen Packaging Kalamazoo Carton Converting Facility is located in Kalamazoo, Michigan, with easy access to the beautif Great Lakes region and the cities of Chicago and Detroit. Responsibilities

Purpose of the Job

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for assisting with the development of reliability-based maintenance strategy, based on preventative and predictive maintenance. This individual will work directly with the Maintenance Team Leader to build a reliable and effective Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and maintenance team. The Planner will work independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks.

The Maintenance Planner makes a direct contribution to important plant goals of increasing labor productivity, reducing maintenance costs, and improving equipment reliability. This is accomplished by preparing detailed job plans, coordinating key scheduling activities with other areas, and ensuring work order data integrity. This person needs a complete understanding of the parts inventory function, inventory management, and parts distribution. This role serves as the central point of contact for all maintenance reliability systems. This position is expected to lead and participate in plant-level continuous improvement, lean, root cause analysis, and six sigma projects when applicable.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

1. Support the initial design and implementation of the SAP Plant Maintenance, CMMS module.

2. Demonstrate Enterprise asset management (EAM) proficiency utilizing the Materials Management and

Maintenance modules of the CMMS.

3. Generate and analyze key performance indicator reports (ie, due-in, past-due, mean time between failures etc.).

4. Convert work requests to work orders in CMMS/EAM system.

5. Update equipment history and other pertinent information.

6. Continuously improve the preventative and predictive maintenance activities by utilizing key performance indicators as well as work order and customer feedback.

7. Approving and prioritizing new work order requests. Analyze work order feedback.

8. Ensure accuracy of the information on the new work requests before the request is converted to a work

order.

9. Use historical data to estimate labor hours needed to perform the work.

10. Drive high service level in support of planned and scheduled maintenance work.

11. Plan jobs and create required job information packages for scheduled work.

12. Prepare and communicate job planning packages for scheduled jobs to all involved and affected.

13. Determine actual sequence of work (ie, prep work, lock-out, burn and confined space permits required,

job steps and necessary follow-up).

14. Facilitate the weekly scheduling meeting to jointly review/approve the weekly schedule with the Department Managers, Maintenance Manager and Production Planner.

15. Audit job sites to evaluate effectiveness and efficiency.

16. Coordinate and follow-up delivery of special equipment needed from vendors.

17. Exchange common planning information with Planners from other facilities.

18. Provide support by contacting vendors concerning cost and availability of parts.

19. Arrange support personnel, contractors and equipment as needed for the next week's scheduled jobs.

20. Provide information to update drawings, parts lists and job steps when necessary.

21. Establish and maintain an effective Master Maintenance Schedule for preventative and predictive

maintenance activities (PPM).

22. Input/update asset information in CMMS/EAM system (ie, vendor information, price, equipment hierarchy, PO#, store room location and any other information that may not have already been captured).

23. Allocate/reserve stock parts for scheduled jobs in CMMS/EAM system.

24. Communicate specific requirements to “reserve,” “stage” and “deliver” materials to coincide with

scheduled maintenance work

Qualifications

Qualifications: Education, Skills and/or Experience Required

1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred; or equivilent work experience

2. 3 years relevant experience

3. Knowledge of plant equipment and processes

4. Demonstrate proficiency using AutoCAD

5. Experience in use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System

6. Practical knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems

7. High energy, with exceptionally strong work ethic

8. High trust, integrity above reproach and character that reflects company values

9. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a sense of empathy

10. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work well under pressure

11. Strong team player, able to think and act in ways fully supportive of other team members

12. Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the

effective manufacture of product

13. Knowledge of business and management principles

14. Demonstrated knowledge and high level of computer skill and familiarity

15. Knowledge of food safety requirements

16. Ability to interpret and administer the SQF Code

17. Other duties as required

Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands:

1. Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, squat 8 to 10 hours a day

2. Must be able to wear all necessary safety equipment

3. Must be willing to work on manufacturing production floor
