Maintenance Planner devises plans and programs for routine preventative maintenance and scheduled turnaround events at a plant or production facility. Accurately defines and estimates required work requests and maintains a consistent tracking system for work orders. Being a Maintenance Planner develops inspection and survey procedures to ensure an effective preventative maintenance system. Works closely with technicians, engineers, operations, and managers to establish a schedule of proactive maintenance activities during appropriate downtime. Additionally, Maintenance Planner utilizes planning and scheduling methods to ensure the most effective and least disruptive maintenance possible. Typically uses a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking and planning maintenance. Monitors spare parts inventory to ensure availability of required parts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. May require a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Maintenance Planner work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     Maintenance Planners are responsible for the day to day maintenance functions required to maintain our calibration, corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance and spare parts programs. The Maintenance Planner provides support to generate maintenance metrics and analysis.

    How you will contribute

    * Supports engineering projects including but not limited to equipment identification, commissioning, and validation process.

    * Ability to identify areas requiring repair, or potential risks to product or employee safety.

    * Plans and schedules preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance of critical plant equipment on a regular basis, to include bulk processing tanks, filling, packaging, CIP systems, facilities, critical systems/utilities and electrical control systems

    Other duties and responsibilities

    * Responsible for maintaining our programs in compliance within FDA, cGMP and SOPs.

    * Ability to learn how to verify mechanical and electrical drawings for accuracy and redlines as required.

    * Ability to understand troubleshooting and repair methods of critical equipment including; process equipment, critical systems, tanks pumps, aseptic filling and packaging equipment.

    * Ability to understand building and electrical codes concepts.

    * Follow and comply with EHS regulations, SOPs and cGMP policies.

    * Attend required training and meetings.

    * Understand and perform lock out tag out of equipment prior to maintenance activity.

    * Responsible for tracking Equipment and Facility Preventative Maintenance Tasks

    * Maintain documentation related to maintenance activities

    * Work with contractors and/or external vendors ensuring contractor training, project scheduling and equipment planning is on track.

    * Contact and facilitate on-site support from Vendors / Contractors for calibration, maintenance, and equipment purchases.

    * Work with Supply Chain to facilitate buying for the maintenance and engineering groups.

    * Work with the Facility Maintenance Manager to maintain the spare parts storage and spare parts inventory.

    * May performed other duties as assigned.


    What you bring to the role

    Requirements:

    * High School diploma minimum, with 3 years of experience in planning, scheduling or supply chain.

    * Associate degree in business management, supply chain or technical discipline with 1 year of experience in planning, scheduling or supply chain.

    * Bachelor's degree in business management, supply chain or technical discipline.

    Qualifications:

    * Knowledge of production equipment including but not limited to process tanks, critical systems, filling equipment, packaging equipment and CIP systems is preferable.

    * Ability to read, write and understand technical documents and instructions, electrical and mechanical drawings, equipment blue prints and piping and instrumentation drawings with minimum guidance.

    * Possess customer service and attitude to take ownership of any maintenance related problem.

    * Good scheduling and communication skills.

    * A self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently and use good judgment.

    * Must be able to handle multiple priorities.

    * Must be proactive, results orientated, and have a strong attention to detail.

    * Knowledge of cGMP and health care product manufacturing experience preferred

    * Knowledge of planning, scheduling and spare part inventory in maintenance department environment.

    * Ability to generate spreadsheets (MS Excel), presentations (MS PowerPoint) and word documents (MS Word).

    * Knowledge of databases, queries, pivot tables and charts.
