Maintenance Planner, Sr. devises plans and programs for routine preventative maintenance and scheduled turnaround events at a plant or production facility. Accurately defines and estimates required work requests and maintains a consistent tracking system for work orders. Being a Maintenance Planner, Sr. develops inspection and survey procedures to ensure an effective preventative maintenance system. Works closely with technicians, engineers, operations, and managers to establish a schedule of proactive maintenance activities during appropriate downtime. Additionally, Maintenance Planner, Sr. utilizes planning and scheduling methods to ensure the most effective and least disruptive maintenance possible. Typically uses a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking and planning maintenance. Monitors spare parts inventory to ensure availability of required parts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. May require a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Position Summary:
This position develops, plans and maintains workflow processes, data management systems, performance measurement programs, and reporting systems for the Reliability and Maintenance department.
Essential Job Functions
§ Defines, designs, develops, monitors, and refines Company standards and systems to improve reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, and facilities
§ Uses MPI techniques to improve overall efficiency
§ Plans installation, maintenance and repair of machines, tools, equipment, and utility systems
§ Provides a safe operating environment
§ Establishes scope of reliability and maintenance work needed on plant and equipment; collaborates with Reliability Engineers and Maintenance Supervisor regularly
§ Prepares work packages for planned maintenance activities, including repetitive maintenance needs
§ Orders, receives and supervises required material to assist maintenance activities
§ Establishes, maintains and improves reliability and maintenance workflow processes; collaborates with Reliability Engineers, Maintenance Management, Operations, EHS, etc.
§ Maximizes operating profit by improving equipment reliability; returns equipment to design capability in an efficient manner using solid maintenance planning techniques
§ Develops and maintains Maintenance Procedures related to reliability management
§ Manages maintenance data collection; provides maintenance service and improves future work processes
§ Develops and maintains Reliability document management system
§ Receives work orders; plans work processes; procures required material and assistance to complete maintenance activities
§ Coordinates daily and weekly planning meetings as required
§ Provides assistance to engineering for spare part preparation and PM activities
§ Interfaces daily with production and maintenance personnel; reviews requested work orders; provides input to definition, accuracy and priority
§ Works closely with Procurement and Warehouse personnel to ensure proper stocking of parts and preparation for outages, turnarounds, etc.
§ Collects drawings, manuals and other documents to assist with maintenance repairs and modifications as needed
§ Generates reports for use in properly scheduling resources; ensures timely work execution
§ Understands equipment life-cycles; pre-evaluates need for replacement parts; places parts orders
§ Handles on-call work as required
§ Abides by all safety procedures and practices applicable to location and position; participates in appropriate safety training; demonstrates commitment to and support of EHSS principles and values; champions safety
§ Performs other duties assigned by management that generally fall within the expected scope of this position

Experience Requirement
§ Minimum of 10 years of experience in maintenance and/or reliability in refinery or petrochemical facility
§ Knowledge of petrochemical SAP, Microsoft program experience is preferred.
§ Experience with preventive maintenance programs in industrial environment
§ Proven accuracy skills; knowledge of drafting preferred
§ Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, and other basic math processes
§ Proven skills in data collection and problem solving
§ Positive attitude; change agent; team oriented
§ Experience working in dynamic manufacturing environment
§ Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and follow through on assignments
§ Good computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; ability to use database systems and other programs and applications used by this position and at Company
§ Fluent in English language including reading, writing and speaking; ability to read and write at a minimum of high school level; ability to clearly communicate to all levels in organization
