Maintenance Planner, Sr. devises plans and programs for routine preventative maintenance and scheduled turnaround events at a plant or production facility. Accurately defines and estimates required work requests and maintains a consistent tracking system for work orders. Being a Maintenance Planner, Sr. develops inspection and survey procedures to ensure an effective preventative maintenance system. Works closely with technicians, engineers, operations, and managers to establish a schedule of proactive maintenance activities during appropriate downtime. Additionally, Maintenance Planner, Sr. utilizes planning and scheduling methods to ensure the most effective and least disruptive maintenance possible. Typically uses a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking and planning maintenance. Monitors spare parts inventory to ensure availability of required parts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. May require a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Major Duties and Responsibilities
· Prepare preventative maintenance plans that are aligned with the organization’s maintenance goals
· Create maintenance schedules and generate work orders
· Maintain parts inventory
· Create procedural manuals that explain how to do certain tasks
· Estimate costs of labor and parts for industrial equipment
· Adjust schedules to account for unexpected emergency work
· Assist and support maintenance manager
· Serve as liaison between maintenance and operations
· Maintain records and files essential to maintenance management
· Coordinate with maintenance staff, contractors and external vendors
Desired Skills and Experience
· 1-3 year’s practical experience in a production environment
· Capable of handling a fast paced environment in addition to having a strong sense of urgency.
· Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Able to lift 50 lbs and stand for 8 or more hours a day.
· Attentive to detail, with a focus on accuracy and quality.
· Good with computers in a business environment.
